Why is Hydroxsys’ technology different?

At Hydroxsys, our Vision is to create sustainable value for our shareholders, our customers, and our communities by providing innovative technology solutions that work.

Our current focus is to deliver technology to our customers that will deliver sustainable long term outcomes through treating their wastewater. We do this to significantly reduce customers current environment impact and provide a value added process to their wastewater treatment that existing technology simply can’t deliver.

It's true that many businesses make similar claims, so what is it about Hydroxsys that is different? It starts with our purpose and our mission as a New Zealand CleanTech company driven to create sustainable value by improving and enhancing our environment. Yes, we are a “for profit” business (just like nearly everyone else) but we firmly believe that our profit is measured in terms of the positive impact we create and the return of value (money) from this that allows us to continue to invest and develop genuine game changers that will improve our world.

Our smarter wastewater filtration systems work for one simple reason. We do not rely on existing membrane or filtration technology. We have developed our own, novel and patented membrane which stands up to extreme conditions. Our thin film polyethylene-based membrane is very strong and can withstand high temperatures as well as a wide pH range and is chlorine tolerant. The processes we use to alter the membrane from hydrophobic (water rejecting) to hydrophilic (water passing) incorporates the use of advanced polymer chemistry which binds a thin film to the surface of the membrane to deliver a long lasting, high-performance, low-pressure system. The properties of the membrane and the polymer chemistry can be adjusted to suit upstream manufacturing conditions, making the Hydroxsys system highly agile in terms of application, which applies to any industry with wastewater.

We have proven our capability via industry trials and case studies, and we can apply the same core technology across multiple industries (e.g., dairy, wine, fish processing, meat processing, bio-digester waste, mining, oil & gas, pulp & paper, the list goes on) while adapting the chemical properties of the membrane to achieve the same high level of performance.

Key differences with Hydroxsys wastewater membranes include;

·     Polyethylene base material delivers a high heat, caustic, acid and chlorine resistance, which reduces risk of membrane damage and extends usable life

·     Very effective at removal of suspended solids and reduction of BOD/COD contributors. Delivers >90%+ of wastewater volume as a source of clean water while concentrating solids constituents to enhance existing treating systems (eg DAF)

·     Able to be cleaned using standard CIP methods, with full flux recovery, with a shorter stand down period

·     Operates at low pressure, reducing processing costs and extending operating periods between washes

·     Agile and adaptable membrane properties to cater to multiple up-stream processing demands

·     Very low footprint demand – no need for large, costly and smelly settling ponds or land use. Can usually be installed within existing infrastructure

·     Modular turnkey design allows businesses to scale up without large up front capital costs

·     Long life membrane, warranted for 2 years

·     Multiple purchase and service/support options to assist customers to reduce up-front capital expense

·     Low membrane manufacturing impact. Uses inert and low hazard materials which are not harmful to the environment

·     Smart tech integration enabling remote monitoring and support with real time performance reporting using your existing networks, lets you see what is happening in your waste to provide early warning of potential upstream issues

·     Finally, a membrane filtration system for wastewater treatment that works and delivers on the promise of genuine sustainability!
